Today we are pleased to offer for sale a rare vintage Marbro table lamp! A bit of info on the company.

The Marbro Lamp Company was established by Morris Markoff and his brother after World War II. Their first shop opened soon after the end of the war, located in the garment district of Los Angeles. They specialized in a wide selection of antiques and decorative arts accessories, but are best known for their lamps. The lamps use parts sourced from all over the world, however, and were assembled in their shop. Production continued under Masco until December of 1990 when the assembly plant in Los Angeles was closed.

All the remaining inventory of Marbro lamps moved to another company, LaBarge Mirrors in Michigan, which was also owned by Masco. This exquisite table lamp dates to the late 1970's/early 1980's. The piece is superbly crafted and detailed and made with the finest materials. The lamp is done in the lavish and ornate, grand French Louis XV Rococo style.

It features a finely carved Alabaster stone vase; the stone is of beautiful soft white color. The vase is beautifully mounted with fanciful cast Bronze Dore Ormolu mounts, with rocaille and shell base and cap, and swirled handles. The lamp is very heavy (over 15lbs) and features solid brass hardware, with two pull-chain cluster sockets, and cord with in-line switch.

The lamp just needs a lampshade but it is otherwise ready to be used and displayed. This stunning and rare Marbro lamp will. Add luxurious style to any well appointed interior! The lamp presents beautifully and it is in excellent, vintage condition, with very minor display wear and patina commensurate with age.

The stone has minimal wear and micro-scuffing, a few very minor carving imperfections along some edges but no chips or cracks. The bronze mounts have minimal wear and tarnish, with one small spot of oxidation commensurate with age. Please review all photos before purchasing. Dimensions: 29 in height (top of finial to base), approx. 5" in width, the base is 5" x 5-3/4, cord length approx.
