This is a fantastic and glamorous Fine Vintage Mid Century Hollywood Regency Portrait Oil Painting, depicting a beautiful black haired and blue-eyed young woman, wearing a flowing teal gown, and posing for her portrait in a palatial mansion home. She looks a lot like a young Elizabeth Taylor! A large courtyard and Romanesque stone banister are visible through the doorway in the distance. The sitter appears poised and confident, wearing an exquisite, jeweled necklace and staring directly at the viewer. This work very likely depicts a rich Hollywood Golden Era socialite.
This large and ornate gilded frame would have cost a small fortune in the 1950's. Signed and dated: "Jeane Logan 58" in the lower left corner. I could not find any information on this artist, but perhaps you know more about her or her work? There is a possibility that this was painted by midcentury Hollywood actress Barbara Jeane Logan (1932 - 1994), who appeared in Tell Me That You Love Me, Junie Moon (1970), Beginner's Luck (1951), and Dallas 1978. Approximately 33 3/4 x 43 3/4 inches including frame. Actual artwork is approximately 26 x 36 inches. Acquired from an affluent private collection in Beverly Hills, California.Due to the large size and weight of this piece, S&H will be unavoidably high.
